Thesis Title: Exploring the trajectories and uses of international aid models: the politics of 'ownership' and 'poverty reduction' in Mali

About

My research mostly deals with international donor interventions in sub-Saharan Africa through foreign aid.
My PhD thesis explores how the notions of “ownership” and “poverty reduction” and their operational instruments promoted by the World Bank since the end of the 1990s are translated and espoused, adapted or instrumentalised by public actors in Mali, an aid-dependent country in West Africa.
The approach I use is truly multidisciplinary, borrowing from a wide range of disciplines in the social sciences, including political science and international relations, African politics, public policy and development anthropology.
